There are so many things we love about Breakthru Ambassador, Olympic Gold Medalist pole vaulter, Katerina Stefanidi, that we can’t possibly list them all here. She has broken through the age barrier for her sport. She is beloved for the way that humor and grace help her move through a competition. She knows that the best jumps are in those moments where your mind and your body come together, your energy is aligned, your focus is aligned, and you get exactly out of your jump what you put into it. It’s no effort. It’s physics and flow. She’s an exemplar of what grit can result in. She brings humor and small dances and small breaks into the flow of her workday. She knows the importance of rest. She is afraid of heights. Yeah, you heard me right. Yet, she is able to move through the fear when she gets her mind and body in one place working together. She is the most awarded Greek female athlete of all time.
When we see something like this, so beautiful, someone’s body in motion, know as you watch that inside your imagination, your body, through mirror neurons, is acting out that same gesture, that same motion. No wonder we all love moments of highlights. Breakthru says: Let the highlight, the moment in motion of a movement like this, be the thing that propels you up out of your work chair, up off the couch. Let it remind you to seize small moments of motion in the flow of your day. Let it remind you that the body and the mind belong together, in the workday, on the field.
